What areas do you serve?
Actually, we are happy to cover reasonable distances from B95 6HW. The price includes the chef's travel fee up to 50 miles. Over 50 miles the charge is £0.60 per mile.
How do you know what foods I can eat/enjoy?
Your diet is the first order of business. In our initial consultation/e-mail exchange, we will review your diet, allergies, preferences and dislikes.
I have small children, can you make meals for them?
Absolutely! We have a separate kids menu, but we are also prepared for toddlers.
What is included in your price?
Chef's travelling up to 50 miles, plates, preparing and cooking of the food, and kitchen clean up.
What additonal fees do I need to consider?
Travel fee for longer distance, waiting staff, printed menus, decoration, cutlery and napkins always come with additional charges, except for a few types of service.
Can I be on hand instead of paying waiting staff?
You can, however only up to a certain number of guests. The point of our services is to take as much load as possible off of your shoulders so that you can join your quests, and maybe only look after them when it comes to drinks. When we provide the waiting staff, even drink service is handled by a professional and you can enjoy your own event on full power.
Our staff level recommendations are based on experience and guarantee a smooth service.
Is the menu the same for everyone?
Yes, where possible.
Exceptions are: speacial dietary needs, allergies.
If you wish to add more dishes, £10/extra starter and dessert, £15/extra main, £5/extra grilled item (bbq only).
Do you have to prepare meals in my home?
Yes. All meals are prepared and cooked in the home of the clients or our licensed and inspected commercial kitchen. Preparing meals in your home guarantees that you are provided with the highest quality food possible.
What if I want to change/swap courses on the menu?
We offer a very wide range of flavours and culinary delights. You will find something you will enjoy and our head chef can always alter the menu to meet your preferences.
What if I want a themed/bespoke menu?
No problem, you are at the right catering company. Our chefs are ready and happy to accommodate your individual preferences.
Do I need to know what courses we will have at the time of the booking?
No, not at all. We appreciate if you choose earlier, but you can tell us your final menu choices up until 7 days before your event.
Do I have to be home when you are cooking?
No, you do not. But we need access to the kitchen area 1.5 - 2 hours before your preferred start time.
How long does the service take?
Depending on the number of guests and type of catering, it can take anywhere from 3 to 6 hours. We are happy to accommodate your schedule. Times vary depending on the complexity of the menu and your preferences.
Is it okay to help?
Do not worry, our professional chefs and waiting staff are there to ensure a smooth service and your maximum pleasure. The Chef would be happy to discuss any questions with you before or after your service.
How far in advance should I reserve?
The sooner the better as we cannot hold dates. It is not enough to ask us to pencil you in the calendar, every booking is valid only after payment. We might make exceptions for a few days till you have the chance to check it again with your guests, but please remember, in case of high interest, payment will secure a date and allow us to proceed with the booking.
Can I change numbers?
Up until 1 week before the event, you can.
If there is a last minute downgrade in the numbers, we will make the paid portions and you can share it at the event or save it for later.
When and how do I pay you?
We accept payments solely by bank transfer. You always get the bank details in our very first e-mail. Every event has to be fully paid upfront. When there are over 20 guests, you can pay a deposit to make the booking and then pay the outstanding balance 4 weeks before the event.
Cash, check, card, phone or Paypal payments are not accepted.
Will I lose all my money if I have to cancel at the last minute?
This has never happened. Within reason, we always try to reschedule your date subject to availability rather than keeping our official T&C. It is more for occasions where the cancellation does not take place in a proper manner or in advance.
What kind of ingredients do you use?
Food Champs aims to use only the highest quality fresh and local ingredients
Do you instruct cooking classes?
No. Chef Misi has been asked to create cooking classes either privately or for small groups, but this is not his cup of tea.
Are you insured?
Yes. We have obtained liability insurance. This insurance is specifically for private chefs who conduct services in clients’ homes or preferred venue.
Can you provide references?
Certainly. Please check clients reviews and feedbacks on our public platforms.
Is there anything I can do prior to your visit?
Have your kitchen counters free of clutter, your sink cleared and dishwasher emptied as well as have space in your refrigerator and freezer.
